Rootrainers encourage vigorous & strong root formation; roots grow straight, avoiding root balls and pot bound plants. Opening the Rootrainer up in a book-like fashion allows for easy inspection of moisture levels and root progress, as well as satisfyingly easy removal of the young plants.
Each pack contains: 1 holding tray, 8 books and a clear propagating lid.
Plants that excel in Rapid Rootrainers include:
Bedding Plants - e.g. Antirinums, Begonias, Bizzie Lizzies, Lobelia
Softwood Cuttings - e.g. Chrysanthemums, Geraniums, Fuchsias, Heathers
Salad Plants e.g. Lettuce, Radish, Tomatoes
Small Herbs - e.g. Chives, Basil
Helpful Haxnicks hint: this size is especially good for cuttings.

I haven't used the new ones but wanted more to add to the ones I had second hand from family. They work really well.
Excellent service and product.
I bought both the Paid and the longer ones. Having mixed my usual seed compost I filled and sowed, top dressed and set on a sunny windowsill. 99% germination with sweet peas and about 90% with chillies. Both doing well. Like the set up and the reusability. Look forward to years of positive results.
I first bought root trainers some 10 or 15 years ago ( can't remember exactly when), but sadly they finally fell to pieces beyond use last year, so these are their replacements. I cannot praise them enough, definitely the best way to grow from seed that I know of.
I ordered 10 packs of rootrainers which arrived in goodcondition but each packof 10 included its own packaging, which seems wasteful to me. One pack of 10 only contained 9 books of rootrainers which was extremely disappointing as I had a job to do and this left me short for a sowing. It would be helpful to recieve what I paid for and hope you can send me the missing book at some point.
Hello, i am sorry that your Rootrainers were one book short. Not quite sure how that happened. I have passed the details on to the Customer Service Team and they will be in touch to make sure you have your full order. Apologies once again for the error and I do hope all your seeds are growing well.
