Low Maintenance Rapid (Shrub) Rootrainers

The Rootrainer system is made up of deep seed trays, divided into separate segments known as "books". They are unique because they open up like a book, for easy inspection and easy transplanting.

The Rapid is the smallest in our Original tray range, ideally suited for all bedding and container plants, salads and herbs.

This Low Maintenance Pack will cut down on watering time, with the addition of an extra clear lid, allowing 1 lid to stand the tray in for watering, and 1 to act as a propagating dome.

Each pack contains 1 holding tray, 8 books, and 2 clear propagating lids.

The main root grows straight down the grooved cell towards the large drainage opening at the bottom.

The root tip makes contact with the air and dies off.

The plant then compensates by producing new root growth, with no root balls.

Rootrainers have unique design features, and are not just another propagator cell system. Rootrainers provide the prefect start for all seeds, seedlings, plugs & cuttings, especially those that require deep root runs and those that are sensitive to root disturbance.

The only propagation system gardeners ask for by name, Rootrainers encourage vigorous & strong root formation; roots grow Rootrainer openstraight, avoiding root balls and pot bound plants. Opening the Rootrainer up in a book-like fashion allows for easy inspection of moisture levels and root progress, as well as easy removal of the young plants. Rootrainers are available in Compact Rapid, Rapid, and Deep versions.
